Statement of Purpose

Hawaii’s Woodshow 2007, Na La‘au o Hawai‘i, is the fifteenth annual juried furniture and woodworking exhibition of the Hawai‘i Forest Industry Association. HFIA has a commitment to create and maintain healthy forests and a robust and responsible local forest industry. Hawaii’s Woodshow is designed to impart public appreciation for the participating artists and the materials they use, and to promote the positive role of forests in our economy and ecology. The Show calls for the use of wood from Hawaiian-grown tree species, especially those that have been planted and brought to maturity in Hawaii. It is intended to serve as a reference point for the planting of native and non-native high-value hardwoods for coming generations.
